Wills Enduring Powers of Attorney
This page does not aspire to political correctness but comes straight to the point.
We are looking for a snappy title which includes those who already are elderly and those who recognise that, while they too will become elderly they have
not got there yet and are not ready to be classified as elderly. Answers in the web-site comments section or, better still, in the letters column of a
national newspaper. You may mention our name and web-site.
Planning for becoming Elderly
We are starting to learn that we all must plan for becoming elderly. If we don’t think we shall get there, we must certainly review our Wills. In fact, we should review Wills anyway.
First Principles
- Be aware that there is a potential cost of nursing and residential care.
- Recognise that there is the possibility of a stroke, serious accident, or Alzheimer's or other diseases or simply old age, or other incapacity which might prevent our handling our assets or business affairs.
- It is easier to plan when fit and well than wait until frailties develop.
Action
- Make Enduring Powers of Attorney
- Consider savings/investment policies
- Review Wills
